Capital Ship is the Tinris World Navy terminology for any ship matching or exceeding 762 meters in overall length. Within the World Navy, the most common such vessels are the Tinris class capital ships, though other elements of the World Navy also qualify. The firepower and tactical usefulness of such a vessel has resulted in them being used primarily for pacification by intimidation tactics over the course of the last several millenia. Nonetheless, capital ships play a major role within their assigned battlegroups .
