Most commonly referred to by their marketed trademark name of Spotbox, an HID is a device of nearly pure technology, using magineering only to observe its surroundings. Primarily used in high-end observation tasks - police work, espionage, astronomy, traffic management, etc - the HID is a learning machine which can provide easily understood data and its own hypotheses on whatever it is used to observe. In some rare instances, an HID and an IPEE (see below) are integrated. Improper use of an HID, with the most common violation being criminal voyeurism and the least being treason, can carry minor to capital penalty ramifications.
