As a purely non-profit organization, the Librarians have a relatively narrow focus in world society. In the wake of the Era of Collapse and the devestating impact that benighted age had upon knowledge and lore of the previous Eras, a small but very dedicated group of academics formed. Their stated goal was to recover, discover and protect information in all its myriad forms. Working privately at first, the recovery of the Great Library provided these scholars not only a base of operations but a state sanction, of sorts, to continue their work. In the modern Era, the Librarians - sometimes just called Bookers - maintain public, private and high security repositories for knowledge in all its myriad forms. As a non-profit, the Librarians produce no goods but do provide data indexing and storage services at cost to an ever-expanding network of clientele.
